Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Consecrate to Me all the firstborn, whatever opens the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and beast; it is Mine.”
Comment:
We have made the status of this commandment partly amber because we don’t know how we would go about either consecrating a firstborn to the Lord (without temple, priesthood etc) and we don’t know how we would redeem a firstborn either (who would we give the money to, and how much would it cost?)
But the commandment is also green because we believe that it does still apply in principle.
